Period Research Room
The Heritage Centre has a small comfortable research room in a period setting where visitors can peruse a collection of local research material.
Family History can be researched here too on one of our computers or one of our experienced volunteers can lend a hand by appointment.
Available for researchers also, is a wonderful and important piece of Brigg’s history from World War 2 which we are very lucky to have on loan.
“The Welcome Home Fund” was inaugurated in the closing years of the Second World War to mark and honour servicemen and women from Brigg on their return from the war. The complete file of The Fund includes the names of almost 600 Brigg service personnel.
A copy is available for visitors to read at their leisure in the pleasant surroundings of the Period Research Room.
A small archive of Brigg Preparatory School documents from 1950 to 1965 has recently been added to our research material.
Visitors may also like to browse through a collection of scrap books containing newspaper cuttings covering a wide spectrum of local history. The scrap books are extremely popular and not to be missed when you visit.
