Brigg Heritage Centre, first and foremost, is a charitable organisation showcasing the wonderful and diverse history of Brigg, the surrounding villages and the Ancholme Valley – championing local heritage education and respect for our environment.


We are home to the ‘Brigg Raft’ which dates back to 800BC, first discovered in Brigg in the 1880s and excavated in the 1970s. Our permanent collection spans time from The Bronze Age to The 20th Century, supported by a programme of temporary exhibitions and events.

Did you know? We also offer a versatile range of rooms for hire with a multiple opportunity of uses. Situated in the heart of Brigg centre, overlooking the historic Market Place, with ample carparking facilities (to the rear of the Angel Building).

Our Rooms...


The Ancholme (maximum capacity 25)
The Churchill (maximum capacity 39)


Both situated on the 1st Floor of the Angel Building within the Brigg Heritage Centre. Flexible spaces for meetings, workshops, temporary exhibitions and organised social groups.



The Buttercross (maximum capacity 60)


An elegantly proportioned upper level regency styled room leading off a impressive sweeping staircase overlooking the historic Market Place of Brigg. Licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, The Buttercross is a unique venue for those special occasions and celebrations and events.





All our rooms are fully accessible to disabled clients. Booking groups will have access to kitchen facilities (refreshments not included) and W.C.

Room Hire Rates...

COMMUNITY RATE is available for Charitable and 'not-for-profit' Groups/Organisations. 

If your booking is eligible - BHC can offer The Buttercross at:

£12.50 per hour (core hours: Half Day £45.00  |  Full Day: £90.00)

A Minimum Hire Charge of 1 Hour is applicable to ALL Rooms.

For bookings our core hours are: 9:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday |  9:00 - 14:00 Saturdays.


* Please note: Any booking which includes non core hours will be subject to an additional 'Out of Hours' supplement fee of £10.00 per scheduled room hire.
